Moth Abholung in Berlin
About three weeks ago, on September 1st to be exact, my friend Christian and I went to Berlin to pick up my new old moth built in 94 by John Illet. I know it is not up to date and it is a low rider, but it's great to have a boat of my own now to get the feel for it. I will definetely by a foiler moth as soon as financially possible.

Anyway, we got to Berlin, tried sailing a bit (quite tough as the wind was pushing us onshore and we both couldn't handle a moth at all.

After sailing we put the moth on my VW Lupo, which looked quite funny (see pics below)

Once we were on the Autobahn, everyone who overtook us looked at my car in complete disbelief. There was one time I overtook a bus and the whole school class in there stood up and pointed at us.

But the most funny thing was when we were stopping to see if everything was tied good enough and a French guy pulled up behind us pulling a 470er behind his Mercedes. He got out of the car, numbled the word "moth" and fell silent and circled the moth 3 or 4 times not saying another single word.

We learned that day, that you can express everyone when you got a moth, even if you can't sail it, yet!

The picture above showes me the first time on my new moth saiing on my home lake in Olpe, Sauerland. It was taken the day after we picked up the moth in Berlin.

Actually this is one of the few pictures where I was really sailing. Most of the time it did actually look like this:
